Background - The United Kingdom's 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) undertook to "enable our Armed Forces to work more flexibly, reflecting the realities of modern life" and to "develop a new Armed Forces offer for new joiners". The Armed Forces People Programme's mission is to deliver the commitments made in SDSR. Its vision is to create "a modern and inclusive Armed Forces which attracts, retains and values its people, in order to enhance operational capability, offering choice as to how they live and work, and providing a comprehensive and sustainable reward package that recognises their commitment and service."
