The Government's expectation is that the SVPs should be fully integrated into life in the UK by the end of the 12 months. Reading Borough Council has committed to take three families per year over five years (2016-2021) through the Government's Syrian Vulnerable Person's Resettlement (SVPR) programme. These refugees are granted 5 year 'humanitarian leave' to stay in the UK, access to public funds, access to the labour market and the possibility of a family reunion.
