We have introduced ambitious recruitment targets and our firefighter recruitment activity will be driven by a sustained approach to positive action. Moving away from campaign based recruitment, we will focus our attention on generating a candidate pool that we will nurture through selection. The assessment methods used for Firefighter recruitment need to be updated and there will be a range of exercises developed to ensure that we are able to fully assess the behaviours, skills and attributes required of the changing firefighter role.
