The aim of the intensive family support service is to support families with multiple and complex needs to make the changes necessary to improve their outcomes and avoid the need for statutory intervention. The contract will commence on 1st July 2017 and will be let for a three-year period with the option to extend for up to two further years in increments to be agreed. Any such extension will be dependent on service performance, the agreement of both parties and the identification of funding after the end of the national Troubled Families programme in March 2020.
