To this end, Northamptonshire County Council has previously invested public funds through two contracts (Stage 1 and Stage 2), to extend the availability of NGA infrastructure in areas where no commercial plans were available from market players as verified through State Aid Public Consultations. When combined with existing and planned commercial coverage, over 94% of premises expect to access NGA by the end of 2017 Stage 3 is aiming to secure a telecom provider(s) to deploy NGA networks (supporting access line speeds of at least 30Mbps) into the final 6% of the county for the funding envelope that is available. Contract period is expected to be up to 27 months (end of March 2019) plus 7 year contract term in compliance with State Aid regulations.
