The contract is for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further period of up to 2 years at the sole discretion of the Council. Specifically the Isle of Wight Council ("Authority") requires a supplier of Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) based telecommunications lines and services to provide SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) connections. Currently the Authority has a single SIP trunk delivered to County Hall, this is 100 channels on a 20Mb symmetrical connection. There are backup ISDN connections into two other locations, Sandown Civic Centre, Sandown and Westridge Centre, Ryde. Both ISDN's are 30 channel.
