The importance of this project is related to the fact that London Centre of Nanotechnology (LCN) cooling system provides critical cooling to virtually all experimental equipment in the LCN building, which provides state of the art nanofabrication facilities for a wide community of researchers within LCN, and across UCL, including significant research projects in the departments of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Medicine. External cleanroom users from both industry and academe (including the Crick, Imperial and Kings) bring in significant resources to LCN.
