These grants will provide funding to support enhanced collaboration between 16-19 providers (including FE colleges, Sixth Form colleges, schools, academies, apprenticeship providers and independent providers) to secure improvement in the teaching of English language to 16-19 year olds in further education settings who do not hold A\*-C GCSE English. The objectives of these grants are: - To share successful pedagogical approaches and strategies concerning the teaching of English across two or more 16-19 providers. ii. To catalyse collaborative working between 16-19 providers to improve English outcomes, particularly with regard to GCSE courses. iii. To support the development of a new cadre of specialist FE English teachers through professional networks operating at a local, city or regional level. We will make funds available to 16-19 providers that are committed to working with other providers to secure and sustain improvements in English, and propose suitable methods of facilitating this shared learning, so that less experienced institutions can benefit.
