The University has recently reviewed its existing IT estate and has defined an IT Strategic Plan intended to replace and modernise systems to ensure that the University’s IT services remain in step with the anticipated needs of students and staff. Execution of the IT strategic plan will require an estimated investment of between £50m and £150m spend over the coming three to five years. ### Objective The University is now looking to adopt a new IT delivery model, whereby it will contract with a third party IT provider (or potentially more than one provider) capable of delivering the bulk of the anticipated IT Strategic Plan over the years ahead. The selected IT provider(s) will be engaged on the basis of a University of Manchester specific framework agreement. Under this model, the intention is that the University would always retain the right to select other providers for specific technical requirements or in the event that the chosen IT provider(s) does not provide a compelling commercial or service delivery capability.
