Works will involve the extension and refurbishment of an existing teaching facility (known as the SC Building) which houses the University’s Faculty of Engineering. The design indicates approximately 540m2 (in total) of single storey new build to the front and rear of SC Building, together with adaptations within the existing building at Ground and 1st Floor levels (totalling approximately 765m2 of internal space) to provide the following accommodation. ### Ground Floor • Single storey extension to the front and rear • A new reception/school office • A mock pit lane area (the central concourse) • A new small ‘Pitch’ room • A new Boardroom • A new Metrology lab including x-ray based CT scanning equipment (equipment procured directly by the University) • A new Live Projects working area ### First Floor • A new IT teaching laboratory • Support office refurbishments The works must start on site during Easter 2016 and be complete by September 2016 ready for the next academic term.
