The CHIS service consists of three components: • an IT system, the Child Health Information System; • a child health records department (CHRD); • a personal child health record (PCHR), the Red Book. Bolton, Stockport and Tameside and Glossop Child Health information Service covers approximately a total of 192,000 children aged 0-19 years of age (2011 ONS population data) and is co-terminus with the respective NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups and Local Authority footprint. NECS is utilising an electronic tendering system to manage this procurement and communicate with potential providers.
