The partner councils of the DWP are: Christchurch Borough Council Dorset County Council East Dorset District Council North Dorset District Council Purbeck District Council West Dorset District Council Weymouth and Portland Borough Council The DWP is not a separate legal body. It is hosted by one of its partners, Dorset County Council, which employs its staff and provides its support services. The tender will focus primarily on the core services detailed below. It will however take the opportunity to test the market for a range of optional services. Such services are likely to become more cost effective in view of the successful contractor operating the core services across the DWP area. These services will be evaluated as part of the award process but will only be included in the final contract if they are deemed to be of good value in comparison to current service costs. The core services budget excluding the treatment of HRC residual waste is currently £4,100,000 p.a.
