The scheme comprises 85 properties which are eligible to benefit from the Property Level Flood Protection (PLP) Scheme. The main aim of the scheme is to minimize the risk of future flooding to 85 properties within the area identified for the scheme. The PLP scheme involves an individual survey of each property; this will identify appropriate property-level flood protection measures to protect each property which includes door guards, airbrick covers and non-return valves for domestic waste water systems etc, along with other appropriate measures. A flood risk survey will inform an individual report for each property. This will in turn allow a range of range of property flooding resilience measures to be offered to householders following the flood risk assessment of their home. The property flood risk survey element of the scheme is to be started as soon as possible and completed in Spring/Summer 2014.
