The purpose of this RFP is to advertise an opportunity for a Provider to deliver Atrial Fibrillation training to GP practices within the Tameside & Glossop CCG area. Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is a common heart arrhythmia affecting approximately 1.8% of the population. AF is associated with symptoms such as breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness and chest discomfort and is a major predisposing factor for stroke. However AF can also be asymptomatic and will often only be diagnosed once a person has had a stroke. In order to improve health outcomes for people with AF, more patients (in particular those who are asymptomatic) need to be identified and prescribed anti-coagulants. The training will require a clinician to deliver 1:1 training to practice nurses within Tameside & Glossop CCG, with the aim of increasing the identification and management of AF within Primary Care. Key Objectives: • Provider clinicians to work with tools agreed by the CCG (inc. GRASP-AF) • Provider clinicians to receive training on the GRASP-AF toolkit • Provider to arrange training dates with the 41 GP practices within the Tameside & Glossop CCG area • Provider clinicians to deliver an effective foundation for identifying AF in primary care (Inc. pulse checks) and Provider clinician to explain how to review patients who already have a diagnosis of AF (estimated up to 3 hours per practice) • Provider clinicians to support each practice in the development of a long term plan to review and identify AF Assumptions & Agreement: • The project must be completed by November 2015 • Bids must not exceed £13,000 • The cost of training the provider clinician in the use of GRASP-AF will be covered by NHS Tameside & Glossop CCG • There will be no significant changes to the project once it is in progress, the CCG Commissioners are seeking responses from viable Providers who can work effectively across Primary Care. Assurance of competence, quality, and innovation and safety standards are required. Please ensure that you see section 5 of this Notice titled Additional Information for the potential Provider questions that are required to be completed and returned to at NHS Tameside and Glossop CCG by no later than 12noon on 19th June 2015. Additional information: Potential Providers are requested to respond to the following questions by no later than 12 noon on Friday 19th June 2015: - Please provide details of any experience you have in delivering/managing similar projects. - From when do you have capacity to deliver the training from? Please provide brief details on current and future capacity. - Please identify your current organisation structure (public limited company, limited company, partnership, sole trader, charity, other public sector organisation, etc). - Please describe the proposed staffing model to deliver this work - Please include all costs for setting up the project (including a breakdown of hourly rates of pay) - Please provide details of any insurance and indemnity cover that will be in place - Bidders must confirm that they understand their responsibilities for Information Governance within the context of the NHS and recognise their responsibilities under data protection, IGOSC, and IG Toolkit requirements.
