Significant investments are being made in local services including through European Social Fund and the Council wishes to work with European Social Fund providers to: - increase the numbers of residents being supported through these programmes, focussing on long term unemployed and above and beyond profiled contractual commitments. - test a new integrated way of working aligning to the Westminster Employment Service and as summarised below. - learn from this trial to inform future commissions by the Council and undertaken by other commissioners; and - use evidence to make the case for future investment in employment services to meet the demand, particularly from long term unemployed and Employment Support Allowance cohorts.
