This initiative is in response to the retail sector identifying the need to identify potential employees having some knowledge of the industry to ensure sustainabilty in this sector. The successful supplier will facilitate 190 participants in attending awareness training of the retail and customer service industry to include understanding of working in a retail environment and the delivery of pre-employment support. The programme must be designed to aid retention and candidates will be supported during this process and also include links to local employment vacancies. Birmingham City Council, on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (Birmingham and Solihull District), invites providers to make an application to be considered to provide and facilitate the Retail and Customer Care training programme. The contract has a maximum budget of £95,000 to deliver training to 190 candidates. BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this tender process and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest and download details.
