The review will be led by the Deputy Director (DD), SRG and the report will be part of the evidence required by the Director General (DG) to inform long term decision making and strategic planning within the Department. DCMS has recently revised the corporate support model, de-centralising elements of resourcing and finance management. In order to support our understanding of the implications of any further efficiencies we need a good understanding of our relative efficiency to inform future options. A forthcoming Strategic Review of Resources will provide data on Team and Group priorities and the resources required to meet these. The data provided through this review will provide the basis information required to further the analysis of the resource devoted to ‘corporate enabler’ activity such as briefing and correspondence. In addition, we want to benchmark, where possible, the level of resource DCMS devotes to these activities, against the resources employed by other Government Departments.
