The Trust envisages a contract for the period of two years with the option to extend for an additional one year up to the period of three years in yearly increments with anticipated commencement of service May 2016. The mobile service is to deliver extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy and extracorporeal shockwave treatment, the service should be equipped with both x- ray and ultrasound localisation. The Trust would also like this service to cover Tendonitis for our Orthopaedic patients ideally. The number of sessions are anticapted at 18 per year but may vary. The contractor must work with the Trust to ensure that an agreed set of procedures as required under the ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 (IRMER) are in place. The contractor should carry out regular patient radiation dose audit (as required by IRR99 and IRMER) and provide the Trusts with the results and suggested Diagnostic Reference levels for this work.
