The council has now approved the implementation of such a vehicle, which has provisionally been named ‘Be First'. Work has now progressed to the point that the concept of Be First has been accepted by Council senior management and elected members and a proposal to proceed to implement it has been approved by the Council’s Cabinet. The appointment of the Chair, Board members and Chief Executive of Be First is a critical activity in that implementation, and it is recognised that it will be highly desirable to appoint to these key positions as early as possible, in particular the Chair and Chief Executive, to allow the new postholders to have a say in establishment of Be First at the earliest opportunity.
