These areas are supported by a National Office Team based in Bristol. FCE is reliant on effective and efficient IS Services to achieve successful delivery of its corporate targets. This requirement is commissioned specifically by FEE as the biggest organisation within England with the largest user base and systems landscape. The scope though will need to cover the requirements of FS due to the close integration currently in place. We currently benefit from the provision of Information Services as part of the Forestry Commission’s Corporate Services Team based in Silvan House in Edinburgh. This IS Service is a shared and integrated service delivered across FC to colleagues within Scotland, to our Central Services teams and to Forest Research, as well as FCE. The service covers the full range of IS functions including Enterprise Systems Delivery, Desktop Management, Data Networks, voice networks, Business Solutions Development, Radio and Electronics and Service Desk. Integral to these technical services, is also the provision of a broader set of management activities. As the Forestry Commission continues to devolve over the next 5 years, FEE and FCE more broadly needs to take responsibility for its own delivery of corporate services which includes Information Services. It therefore needs to develop a strong understanding of its current and future IS requirements, and options and business cases for future service delivery.
