The contract waste to be disposed of through this framework is defined as Local Authority Collected Municipal Waste (LACMW) arising from Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) and Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). It is expected that through the framework North Yorkshire County Council will dispose of approximately 180ktpa of Contract Waste; the City of York will dispose of approximately 52ktpa of contract waste. Recyclable materials and green waste collected at kerbside by WCAs or collected at HWRCs are not included in this procurement. Waste will be available to providers on the framework as contract waste delivered to facilities as LACMW. The framework will be for a period of four years with a start date of 1.1.2015; under the framework further competition will be held throughout the term.
