These aims require the City Council (in exercising its functions) to have due regard to the need to: ? Eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation; ? Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not; and ? Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not. The City Mayor has decided to establish this Community Engagement Fund as a way of supporting VCS organisations in helping deliver these outcomes for the benefit of local communities and individuals with identified protected characteristics.
