The Light Structures Laboratory within the Diamond will be used by students from a wide range of disciplines across the Faculty of Engineering, including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. The purpose of the Laboratory is the translation of theoretical principles into real-life experiences, and vice versa, to promote both qualitative and quantitative understanding. This tender will be divided into nine (9) Lots: - Lot 1 10x Cantilever frame experiment - Lot 2 10x Chain (or Cable) suspension - Lot 3 10x Arch - Lot 4 10x Normal and shear stresses in beams - Lot 5 10x Deflection of a beam - Lot 6 10x Plastic hinge formation in a beam - Lot 7 10x Buckling of struts - Lot 8 10x Plastic bending of portals - Lot 9 10x Asymmetric bending This is an open EU procurement procedure.
