The University of Birmingham invites tenders for supply of the following equipment: - To fit the existing 500MHz NMR super-conducting magnet: o a 2-channel NMR spectrometer console with appropriate amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, and shims system; o nitrogen-cooled, double resonance broadband direct-detect probe with automatic tuning and matching on both channels and fitted with field gradients. It is highly desirable that the probe can be tuned for 19F nucleus observation; o temperature control unit capable of maintaining samples at high and low temperatures (highly desirable range: from -80°C to +150°C); o autosampler (minimum 20 positions) and corresponding number of sample turbines o workstation and NMR acquisition software; o places on training courses (system maintenance and applications) ; o on-site support from the manufacturer’s application scientists. - To fit the existing 400MHz NMR super-conducting magnet: o a 2-channel NMR spectrometer console with appropriate amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, and shims system; o double resonance broadband direct-detect probe with sensitivity enhancement on the 1H coil with automatic tuning and matching. This probe should allow the observation of the 19F nucleus; o temperature control unit capable of maintaining samples at high, and low temperatures (highly desirable range from -100°C to +150°C) o autosampler (64 positions) and corresponding number of sample turbines; o workstation and NMR acquisition software; o places on training courses (system maintenance and applications); o on-site support from the manufacturer’s application scientists. Responses to this tender would only be accepted from suppliers that have been awarded a Framework under the NWUPC HVLE Reference LAB3052 NW – Magnetic Resonance Equipment, Associated Equipment, Accessories, Consumables, Maintenance and Servicing of Equipment – Lot 4 NMR Spectrometers.
