The functional requirements for the capability are being confirmed with industry. It is envisaged that the equipment will deliver a state of the art injection overmoulding capability with the ability to: - Produce full scale components for aerospace and other industries. The anticipated working envelope will be of the order of magnitude of 1 square meter. - Offer a turnkey solution for thermoforming and injection process steps - Utilise a wide range of polymer materials, up to and including high performance aerospace grades. - Potentially utilise a flexible range of reinforcements in the injected material. - Demonstration and commissioning tooling may be included in the package - In process monitoring capabilities A degree of process automation and material transfer is being considered. The NCC intends to use the information gathered to shape the proposed procurement process and specification for this project. Commercially confidential information should therefore be marked accordingly. Following consideration of responses the NCC may wish to engage in further discussions with the respondents which may also further help to inform any subsequent Tender documentation.
