People who may benefit from this service may be homeless or at risk of homelessness, leaving hospital, living with mental-ill health, living with substance misuse issues; offenders who are at risk of causing the Borough harm (including offenders on release from prison at risk of homelessness); living in unsuitable accommodation. Other aims include: - Improve links with private landlords - Issue bonds on smaller properties that are in short supply or for clients who have been excluded from social housing and are unable to afford deposits / rent in advance. - Provide security to landlords against non-payment of rent and damage to properties. - Improve property standards as the Council will only lease properties and bonds will only be offered on properties that are maintained to a decent standard.
