These activities will be evaluated as part of the wellbeing programme. Arun Wellbeing works to tackle the wider determinants of health; tackling factors which affect health and wellbeing and health inequalities. ### BACKGROUND The Wellbeing Programme has been commissioned by the Department of Public Health at West Sussex County Council, to be delivered by each of the district and borough councils in West Sussex. The Wellbeing Programme in each local authority is designed to address health inequalities and support residents to reduce their risk factors for heart disease, stroke, diabetes type 2 and preventable cancers through lifestyle changes, by the coordination and commissioning of local services that meet the locally recognised health and wellbeing priorities. A countywide coordinated approach to the programme is being delivered through a network of West Sussex wellbeing programmes, with each district and borough council working to a common framework for delivery of the objectives outlined above. The Wellbeing programme in each district and borough has been tailored to reflect local demographics, need and capacity, but shares the common purpose of providing a high profile centre of local prevention and wellbeing activity, increasing the ease of access to services needed by the local population. Organisations are invited to bid for the delivery of the Arun Family Wellbeing project, set out in Section 2.
