The "Universal Infant Free School Meals" funding was made available for Local Authorities to bid for capital projects to improve kitchens and associated facilities (e.g. dining halls) to ensure all infant school age children have access to a free, hot school meal which does not impact on the school curriculum. Hillingdon has been successful in bids for works in 2015/2016 at Whiteheath Junior School, Whiteheath Infant School, Hedgewood Primary School, Abbotsfield Secondary School, Heathrow Primary School and Hayes Park Primary School, for a variety of kitchen remodelling / refurbishment works. The school kitchen's must be fully operational and ready to serve meals at full capacity by the 31st March 2016.
