The trees situated on the canal are in excess of 120 dbh and are considered to be in the latter stages of safe, useful life expectancy. The canal forms part of the River Test Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). All cut material, along the canal, is to be removed off-site as part of the works. Extraction of all cut material, at Fishlake Meadows, is the preferred option. There is restricted access for extraction at both sites. Contract start date is early to mid February.
