The service will receive referrals from General Practitioners within NHS North Tyneside CCG. The service will maintain a log of all referrals received and actions taken so that any individual referral can be tracked as required and data on referrals can be collated and processed. A range of specialties will include: Rheumatology, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology, Breast Surgery, Colorectal, Urology, Plastics, Vascular, Gastroenterology and Nephrology. The provider will be expected to be in a position to deliver additional specialties as required by the CCG with 4-weeks' notice. All referrals will go through clinical triage by either an accredited GPSI (GP with Special Interest) or consultant to check that the relating referrals meet the clinical criteria and have been properly worked up in primary care to maximise referral quality and clinical appropriateness.
