The site sits within a Conservation Area and the scope of works includes the refurbishment and partial reconfiguration of existing buildings at 1 & 3-5 York Road, Guildford, to provide improved emergency temporary accommodation and rough sleeper support facilities. The proposed works will include: - Internal refurbishment and reconfiguration works. - Formation of new ensuites to bedrooms. - Conversion of loft space into habitable accommodation. - Building services (MEP) upgrades and replacement plant. - Window and door replacements. - Roof insulation, façade repairs and other external repairs. - Associated external works. - Delivery within a phased construction programme, maintaining operation of parts of the facility during the works. The project is intended to be procured using a traditional procurement route. Planning permission has now been granted (refer to Planning Application reference 26/P/00492 for more details), and the project is progressing through RIBA Stage 4 (Technical Design). Prior to issuing the tender, the Council intends to undertake soft market testing with interested contractors.
