This combined SFRA will cover all of Suffolk. The purpose of the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment is to inform the preparation of new Local Plans. All of the above Councils are each commencing a review of their local plans and will be working to similar timetables. The spatial strategy in each Local Plan should be informed by robust and up to date evidence about flood risk. In particular, the flood risk evidence should inform the location of new development allocations, taking into account the need for significantly increased housing provision.
