Each year the Ministry of Justice (the Contracting Authority) typically receives in excess of three thousand new personal injury and other private and public law claims of varying degrees of importance, value and sensitivity. These emanate mainly from His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), for which it is responsible.
