These channels have been historically disconnected from the floodplain through the artificial raising of the main river and parallel Mill Race (Snobs Brook) to power the historic water mills and more recently aid recreational navigation. The attached construction plans detail the proposed scheme that currently has live applications for both Flood Risk Assessment Plan (FRAP - Environment Agency) and Section 38 - Works on Common Land (Planning Inspectorate). We are seeking an experienced river restoration contractor to deliver the scheme on this sensitive, public site close to the historic city centre.
