Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is progressing a multi-year commercial building decarbonisation programme aligned with its commitment to achieve net-zero operational emissions by 2030. The Council has already initiated upgrades at several smaller sites, measures such as ASHP, LED lighting, solar PV, BEMS and insulation works. In the 2026/27 financial year, we intend to progress the decarbonisation of a further 15 buildings within our commercial estate.
