It requires a large suite of determinands (170) to be analysed including freshwater specific pollutants and priority hazardous substances and Best Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions (6 and 7). This is enforced and regulated by the Environment Agency (EA). UU require 2 suppliers for the collection of samples at 9 IED sites to then be transported in refrigerated vehicles for analysis at certified laboratories for Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) permit requirements.
