The council has been awarded £1.2m for funding new EV charging under the Department for Transport’s LEVI (Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure) scheme. One of the scheme’s essential requirements to access the funding is for local authorities to form partnerships to purchase at scale and ensure value for money for public funding. The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has partnered with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to access the LEVI funding. LBTH is leading on the procurement of EV charging points across two London Boroughs. LEVI Partnership 4 (LP4) is made up of Tower Hamlets and Barking and Dagenham. LP4 is seeking to award contracts to deliver EV charging points across both boroughs The winning bidder will enter into separate contracts with each local authority.
