There is also a requirement to carry out cross-place and out of area transport requests as appropriate. It is intended that this service will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with the successful provider working closely with acute, mental health and community healthcare settings to ensure capacity aligns with patient attendance patterns. It is anticipated that any contract let will be for an initial 5 years with an option to extend for a further 5 years.
