Objectives of the service:

- to treat patients who have been immediately directed into it with unscheduled urgent dental clinical presentations
- to undertake a clinically appropriate examination with consideration to the general health of the mouth (and refer where necessary), assessment and investigations;
- to provide clinical treatment necessary to meet the patient's immediate urgent presentation and pain management needs;
- to refer to other services where necessary

This contract relates to treatment of patients in a primary care setting under the NHS (Personal Dental Services) Regulations 2005
