Independent third-party organisations, called conformity assessment bodies (CABs), have been authorised by DSIT to conduct conformity assessment activities in this area as part of a pilot. The pilot process is expected to conclude this year, as CABs obtain ‘accreditation’ from the UK Accreditation Service.
