We actively manage wild deer and feral wild boar populations as part of our commitment to timber production, restoring ecosystems and tackling the climate and nature crises. We are seeking experienced operators to collect and purchase venison and wild boar carcasses. All venison supplied is FSC and PEFC certified, with carcasses presented to the British Quality Wild Venison (BQWV) standard and culled using non-lead ammunition. Wild boar is not certified. Our key requirement is the prompt and efficient collection of carcasses from our deer larders, with the capacity to respond effectively to increasing and seasonally variable cull volumes across the estate. Timely uplift is essential to support our wildlife management operations and ensure compliance with food safety standards. Contracts will run for a four-year period, with the option to extend by up to one year. Annual review points are built into the agreement. Continuation will be at Forestry England’s discretion, based on market conditions and performance against agreed key performance indicators.
