The NHS Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme is a joint initiative between NHS England and Diabetes UK. The service supports individuals who are overweight / obese and recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes to achieve significant weight loss and potentially remission from their diabetes, using a total diet replacement approach alongside a structured programme of behavioural support. It can be accessed by eligible people in England through referral from General Practice. Since 2023 a national framework of providers has been in place, from which contracts have been called off to deliver services in the 42 Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) in England.
