Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) helps the Council develop its detailed understanding of the current supply market by gathering key information from suppliers that will help inform the planning and conduct of future procurement procedures. ### Project Description The Council is working with a design engineer to support the progress of the proposed maintenance works. The primary matters identified for remedial works include excessive translational movement arising in several elastomeric bearings and excessive settlements on the approach to the bridge. There are several other defects that are present in the bridge, which will look to be addressed within the same contract, these include repairs to parapets, approach safety barriers (Vehicle Restraint Systems), bridge joints, riverside maintenance paths, etc – further information is included within the PME documentation.
