The Commissioner had identified a need for further provision of COVID-19 vaccinations and aimed to secure additional Outreach Services. The core aim of each Lot was to reduce the gap in vaccination uptake by eligible individuals and cohorts within population groups who experienced health inequalities, and to link population groups and areas of need to preventative healthcare and support. This took place in two main ways: - By removing barriers and increasing access to vaccinations for those populations who could not or struggled to access core services, and - By building confidence in vaccinations and wider health services among individuals and groups who might not typically have taken up vaccinations or engaged with health services through standard approaches. The commissioned services were intended to embody the ambitions of the National Vaccination Strategy, 'Shaping the future delivery of NHS vaccination services', published in December 2023. The initial contract term of each Lot is 6 months, with the option to extend for up to a further 12 months. Services were scheduled to commence from 1st October 2025.
