The co-mingled material is segregated at its Baling Plant in Llansamlet, Swansea resulting in separate waste streams of steel (ferrous) cans and aluminium cans. The cans are separately baled in preparation for collection by or delivery to a re-processor. Swansea Council operate 5 Household Waste Recycling Centres which accept all waste items predominantly containing scrap metal and car batteries. In addition a volume of high tensile springs, from stripped down bed mattresses are obtained.
