The contracts will be subject to the terms of the specification for the Provision of Prosecution and Legal Services, and will be for an initial term of 4 (four) years. DVSA are responsible for carrying out various enforcement functions on a number of different schemes relating to road safety. As a result of this activity, various types of offences are detected by DVSA Examiners and Investigators which may justify prosecution action through the court system. Once a decision has been taken to prosecute, the case papers are passed over to the DVSA Prosecution and Legal Services team (“PLS”), based in Bristol.
