The Council are looking at ways to help residents and businesses in the district reduce carbon emissions and energy costs. with the aim of reducing carbon emissions across the district. While there is additional work to do around supporting businesses, as the first stage of this strategic goal work, the Programme Board supporting officers have been exploring the ways in which the Council can support private residents, in addition to existing schemes such as the government grant schemes. One method of supporting residents is to provide a loan, at a lower interest rate than a standard bank loan. Officers are also considering the option of including a small grant alongside the loan, to incentivise residents. If you are interested in attending these sessions please view the premarket document and advise us of your interest by 10th January 2025. Meetings will be held in the week commencing 20th January, with timings to be confirmed.
