It is a statutory learning outcome within the Personal Development strand of Learning for Life and Work at Key Stage 3 that all pupils should be able to ‘develop an awareness of emergency first aid procedures'. Learning outcomes require the demonstration of skills and application of knowledge and understanding. This is an important statutory link for proposals to introduce an expectation that schools will deliver CPR training to all pupils during Key Stage 3.
