The Green Clubs Project is an environmental 'green' transformation of sports clubs on a cross-community basis. It focuses on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, leadership and capacity, best-practice sharing, practical environmental work and ‘green club toolkit’ dissemination. The appointed contractor will be required to communicate with and engage regularly on the project with the DCSDC Green Infrastructure Team who will oversee practical delivery, whilst the PEACE Team manage contractual and reporting arrangements. Each year 5 sports clubs will be recruited (across a range of sports, geography and identity) with 20 participants each taking part in a 'menu' of cross-community programming. Programme is adapted (with permission) from the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Green Clubs initiative and covers 5 themes: Energy, Water, Waste, Biodiversity and Travel and Transport.
