Healthwatch England is the national consumer champion in health and care. They have significant statutory powers to ensure the voice of the consumer is strengthened and heard by those who commission, deliver and regulate health and care services.\\r The Health and Social Care Act 2012 introduced a statutory duty for Local Authorities to make arrangements for a local Healthwatch to be the Health and social care consumer champion, this replaced the Local Involvement Networks (LINk's)\\r The main service requirement is to provide a local Healthwatch service in line with all the relevant legislation.
